Preparation for a Job Interview :-
Every interview is an experience of learning which takes place during the preparation. It is useful for the interview you are planning for.
The initial preparation requies a thorough investigation of skills, accomplishment, expertise and your interests.
The interview preparation includes 4P's :-
- Prepare
- Practice
- Present
- Participate
Preparaing for a job interview :-
Preparation for an effective interview includes-
- A good assessment of yourself
- Researching the organisation
- Updating your resume
- Preparing a list of commonly asked question
- Understanding the venue details
Do's before an Interview :-
- Dress appropriately as per the corporate setting
- Take care of personal grooming and cleanliness
- Reach 10-15 minutes early
- Be sure about the interview time and location, find out how long it takes to get them.
Don'ts before an Interview :-
- Don't stay up late at night
- Don't overeat or have carborated softdrinks
- Don't hold negative thoughts of not being selected
- Donto feel nervous
- Don't forget to be courteous to everybody
Men's Interview attire :-
- Suit (solid color-navy or dark gray) or formal dark trouser & full sleeved shirt.
- Long sleeved shirt (white or coordinated with suit)
- Black or brown matching belt
- With or without a tie
- Dark socks, conservative leather shoes
- Little or no jewellery
- Neat hairstyle
- Minimal aftershave
- Neatly trimmed nails
- Document file or briefcase
Women's Interview attire :-
- Suit (navy black or dark grey), saree(Indian attire), sober salwar kameez
- The suit skirt should be long enough to enable you to sit down comfortably
- Coordinated blouse
- Conservative shoes
- Limited jewellery (no dangling earing or arms full bracelets)
- Neat hairstyle
- Light makeup and perfume
- Neatly manicured clean nails
- Portfolio or briefcase

- Treat everyday with courtesy and respect
- Great everybody
- Be ready for a handshake
- Be an attractive listener in order to understand questions
- Address the interviewer as Sir/Ma'am
- Maintain good eye contact throughout the interview
- Be alert and sit straight in your seat
- Respond to questions warmly and with specific examples
- Ask for clarification if you don't understand a question
- Be brief & concise in your response
- Use formal words and expressions & appropriate grammar
- Display your interest in the employer & the job you are being interviewed for
- Reply to the questions in a polite manner
- Keep your tone polite yet firm
- Take time to respond to a situation
- Show your enthusiasm

- Don't take a seat until you are offered one
- Don't slouch & fidget
- Don't talk negative about previous employees or managers
- Don't show lack of interest during the interview
- Don't give the impression that you are only interested in moneybor salary
- Don't be rude and imprudent
- Don't use slang & minimise use of filters like okay, you know, etc.
- Don't chew gum
- Don't smell of sweat
- Don't keep your mobile on during the interview
- Don't leave in a hurry
